I am a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified Health Coach, I am a Certified CrossFit Coach (Level 1), I have an Eat To Perform Level 1 Certification, I have a B.S. in Science Health Information Management, and I have been a Nutrition Coach for the last ten years serving hundreds of successful clients.
I’m also a busy momma, an awesome wife, a fabulous friend, and an advocate for my own health.
But it wasn’t always this way…
A few years ago, I knew something wasn’t right. I was living in a small town in Texas and my husband had just taken a new job as a football coach. I was gaining weight even though I was working out and eating the same as before. I was tired. Like REALLY tired. I’d wake up and take my oldest son to school, come home, and go back to bed until almost noon. I avoided all intimacy with my husband. My periods were 7-10 days long and heavy with clots. I tried numerous hormonal birth control options and all of them made me feel half crazy.
I finally worked up the nerve to talk to my doctor. I was nervous, but I went in that day and spilled my heart. I told him all the things I was embarrassed and worried about. I told him how poorly I felt and how I thought I was failing as a wife and mother. I told him I didn’t feel like myself and that in my heart of hearts I knew something was wrong.
He laughed. He told me to go home and have a glass of wine.
The first step I took out of that doctor’s office was the first step of my healing journey. I found people who were willing to listen and help. I found solutions that worked for me. I found my strength, I found my confidence, and once again—I found myself.
